I’m Brenda Lewis, an Ottawa-based macrame and felt fibre art maker specializing in forever plants.

For 17 years, I was an elementary and music teacher, until life took an unexpected turn—my husband was transferred to a new city and then deployed for nine months. I decided it was time to pause and reset.

Ten months later, I left teaching behind and took my first retail job at Homesense. I loved every moment—soaking up inspiration, learning, and (yes) shopping along the way!

Then the pandemic hit. A few months before, I had picked up macrame, and when the world slowed down, I poured myself into the craft. When it came time to return to retail, I chose a different path—I jumped headfirst into building my own macrame business.

Over the last five years, my work has blossomed from macrame wall hangings into a whimsical collection of handmade fibre plants and flowers. Every piece is designed from patterns I create myself, making each item truly original.
